23. Poppy field

16x21 framed picture based on one of my journal pages - I liked it so much that I decided to recreate it on a canvas:

Made with acrylic ink, Sakura Micron pen, watercolour, Promarker and a bit of stamping in the background.

I'm submitting this piece for this month's challenge at Creative Artiste Mixed Media challenge blog - it's the first time I play along, but I guess not the last :)

Thanks for stopping by!

22. Mini journal. vol. II

Here's another two months in my daily mini art journal! March was all about different feelings, and here's my favourite pieces from this month:

April's theme was flowers and I really enjoyed drawing them!

Another journal got really chunky :)

I've made a mixed media project in my 20x20 journal, using my beloved Winsor and Newton watercolours, Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze in Blue Suede Shoes, Glimmer mist in Crushed Shells (best shade ever!), Pilot Hi Tecpoint V5 pen and some stamps in the background:

Here's some details:

20. Watercolour cards

Here's some of cards I've made recently; I've got a long break from cardmaking, because I was focused more on learning to draw and watercolour, but at last I found a way to mix it all togeteher!

The main theme is coffee... because what's better than coffee? The second one was made for my colleague, who used to work with me in the coffee shop, but moved back to Poland to finish her studies. Hope it will remind her of all the fun days at Caffe Nero!

19. Lines

I'm super happy to be a guest designer for one of my favoirite challenge blogs, scrapki-wyzwaniowo! This month's theme are lines, so I've decided to explore marks made with different media - markers, gelatos, acrylic ink and paint:

I had so much fun creating this journal spread!

18. Journaling, journaling

Last months wasn't really great in terms of general wellbeing, so picking up any bigger project wasn't an option, but I wasn't completely unproductive! In the end of December I stumbled upon Tori Weyers' Draw Riot Daily challenge and decided to give it a go. day by day my tiny little journal got thicker and thicker, and yesterday I filled up first of the six notebooks prepared for this year.

Here's my favourite pages from January - the main theme was 'colours':

And from February, when I was experimenting with different approaches to mark making:

You can see more at my Instagram account, mousetakesupthechallenge - I've already started working on the second journal, and hopefully this month I'll find some time for other projects too!

Thanks for stopping by :)

17. Seaside memories

Haven't been posting recently - last month was mostly about visiting every single doctor in this town... However, I've managed to make a last-minute entry for current challenge at scrapki-wyzwaniowo - I absolutely love using vellum, so couldn't miss this one:

As a background I've used beautiful chevron paper from 7 Dots Studio's Dreamscape collection - the rest is mostly vellum, recycled kraft envelope and other scraps.

Stamping on vellum is really fun!

There's still time to join the challenge:

It also goes foor the Artastic January challenge - I've used seaside themed photo took this summer at beautiful East Sussex beach:

I'm off to play with my craft supplies - at last!

16. A tribute

A bit personal journal page... A little tribute to the heart, that's still beating, and the body, that's not giving up. The near-death experience two years ago and diagnosis of CSS made me rethink my life a lot - but it also made me go back to crafting and start learning things I always wanted to learn, but was putting it back for 'later'. I'm still alive and doing quite well, and that's a thing to celebrate! (washi, gesso, gel medium, vellum, red drawing ink, pencil, indian ink pen)

Goes for 'Splashes' challenge at scrapki-wyzwaniowo and for 'Anything goes' at That's Crafty blog

15. Red and white

I'm already fed up with the festive season and definitely not going to make any Christmas-related project till November... So glad there will be no more jingling bells on the radio at work!

Yesterday finally found some time to sit down and craft a bit; I've made this card out of scraps of patterned paper, fabric, vellum and kraft envelope - plus some media:

The process was fast and fun! Card goes for the 'Anything goes' challenge at That's Crafty challenge blog:

13. by the sea

Freshly made layout inspired by this month's theme at More than words challenge - OUTDOOR and WOODGRAIN:

Here at the seaside we spend most of the time outdoors - well, at least in the summer; rainy winter is really rough. For this LO I've used the photo taken this summer by the sea:

I've decided to keep it simple and leave a lot of negative space to let the woodgrain texture shine:
